I was inspired to create silk pocket squares, handkerchiefs and scarves when I discovered how well my paintings translated onto fabric. With a background in printed textile design, it was lovely to be able to hark back to my art college days and find a new way of representing my original artwork. These designs are based on some of my earlier work and are themed around my love of the rural life and landscape of the Yorkshire Dales.
I haven't designed new products for a couple of years now having been focusing heavily on my painting, but it is something that I am sure I will be going back to in the future, utilising some of my more recent work to create unique and wearable art.
I have a limited number of these pieces still available - all made in the UK from 100% silk. They can be framed and hung on the wall as well as used as traditional pocket squares, neckerchiefs (the slightly larger 40x40cm sizes) and bag-ties.
