"It brings me great satisfaction when my paintings bring people joy.
I want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to own and get to know my work and so I am going to be producing a brand new range of art prints based on my original paintings."
Based from his Stoke Newington studio, William has now been painting for over a decade.
Originally from Yorkshire, he creates bold and textured abstract paintings in London, drawing from memories to challenge viewers while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
His earlier years in rural Yorkshire inspired mixed-media landscapes, and though he has transitioned in a new artistic direction, elements of direct observation still influence his work.
A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, William has exhibited at galleries in northern England, such as 108 Fine Art and the Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate. He's also been a New Light Art Prize finalist and showcased at the Great North Art Show. In 2019, his painting 'Swinsty in Autumn' won the Best Picture Award at the 20th Anniversary Ilkley Art Show.
You can find his work online through Kate Preston Art and his art is also available at various galleries across the UK, including Catesbys, Broadway; Chantry House Gallery, Ripley; Zillah Bell Gallery, Thirsk; and Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley. Explore his latest creations here.
